A Prairie Posting from Telling Stories Through the Needle's Eye

Last week, Teri and I (Kara) experienced Baltimore on the Prairie for the first time, and we were hooked. From the moment we walked in the door of Lied Lodge, we knew that it was going to be a great week.

This is the view that greeted us!

We taught two classes, Alsatian Urn and Village Wanderings–Shops. Both classes were filled with the best students, and we had a wonderful time full of stitching and laughter—what more could you ask for?! Here are a few pics from our fun-filled week.

We Are Heading to Nebraska!! from Telling Stories Through the Needle's Eye

We are on the road for the next couple of weeks!! First, we head to Nebraska to teach at Baltimore on the Prairie. From there, we both have vacations planned for the following week. We will keep you updated on social media with pictures of conference happenings as we can—but sometimes we get so caught up in the fun of stitching with friends that we forget about that detail.

What's Happening? from Telling Stories Through the Needle's Eye

Spring has officially hit the state of Maryland, and I (Teri) have been enjoying some beautiful long walks, enjoying all the flowers in bloom. There is nothing that inspires us more than nature, with all its bountiful beauty. I guess it's no surprise that we stitch so many flowers!

New Friends, Finishes, and Getting Ready from Telling Stories Through the Needle's Eye

This post is a little bit of this and that as I (Kara) wrap up my to-do list before I head stateside in just a few days for the Academy of Appliqué. It's been a whirlwind couple of weeks, with a visit to Switzerland to see our nephew defend his thesis and a visit north to Heidelberg to share our needle book with a lovely bunch of ladies at the Hearts and Castles Quilt Guild. Their president, Gaby, invited me up to teach the needle book and to share some of my antique quilts.

Mitering a Border and a Goal Update from Telling Stories Through the Needle's Eye

About a month ago, I (Teri) shared some of my stitching goals with you, in an effort to gain some accountability. You can read about them HERE. I am happy to report that I have made some progress! Yesterday, I worked on the handout for our Woodland Reverie class at the upcoming Academy of Appliqué in Williamsburg. This lovely dogwood blossom will be among the flowers we will be stitching in that class. I'm always happy when I can check that to-do item off my list and can get ready to assemble kits.
